Our Story
We are Rooted Up Farm—founded by my husband Matt and me, proud parents of two beautiful daughters, one handsome son, and seven amazing grandbabies. I learned to milk goats from my mom, and both of us learned the art of canning from our mothers. While we both have farming roots in our family histories, it wasn’t until we moved to the country that we truly embraced the lifestyle.
At the time, we had teenagers and wanted to give them a break from the chaos of city life. What began with just a handful of chicks and a garden quickly grew into something more. Before long, we had chickens, pigs, goats, and an expanding garden, turning our dream of a simpler, more connected life into a reality.
We got our name because we weren't truly prepared for the pigs & they kept escaping. We were just getting into farmer's markets & needed a name. As we sat around discussing it, our granddaughter, Katelynn, who was around 2 yrs old at the time said "rooted up cause that's all they do anyway" and just like that we became Rooted Up Farm.
